Workplace Violence Prevention Training

Practical Consultants LLC of Penn Yan, N.Y., has been awarded a contract by the Center for Development of Human Services (CDHS) to conduct workplace violence prevention trainings for employees of local Department of Social Services offices and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services throughout the state. “The importance of workplace violence prevention training cannot be overstated,” says Sandra J. King, president and founder of Practical Consultants LLC. “The rise of workplace violence is evident in news stories both locally and nationally. Training is essential in creating an awareness of how to handle these situations.”The New York State Workplace Violence Prevention Act of 2006 mandates that every public employer with 20 or more employees provide training on workplace violence prevention.The CDHS training must be completed by December 31, 2010, and will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis with approval from the OCFS.
