Arrest made in case of Fayette daylight burglaries

FurmanSeneca County Sheriff’s Investigators reports that a suspect alleged to have committed several daylight burglaries in the Town of Fayette area was apprehended today after a sixteen- day investigation. Arrested was: Ashley L. Furman, age 25, of 192 Ovid Street, Lot 120, Seneca Falls, New York Furman is charged with Four Counts of Burglary 2nd degree, One Count of Grand Larceny and Three Counts of Petit Larceny.It is alleged that Furman unlawfully entered four different residences on four different dates: Yost Road on 4/28/10, Old Route 96 on 4/29/10, Leader Road on 5/3/10 and Seybolt Road on 5/6/10. Taken in the burglaries were cash, coins and property.Sheriff’s Investigators executed two search warrants at Furman’s residence earlier today and recovered evidence linking Furman to the burglaries. In addition, Sheriff’s Investigators gathered video and other evidence from neighborhood canvasses.Sheriff’s Investigators contacted NYSP as one such burglary was being investigated by Troopers in the Town of Varick.Seneca Falls Police assisted Sheriff’s Deputies with the search warrants.Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg commended Deputies and Sheriff’s Investigators who have spent the past sixteen days tracking down leads and gathering evidence in these cases.At the time of this release Furman’s arraignment in court is pending. The investigation is continuing.
