Seneca County Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg announced today that he has promoted Corrections Sergeant Roger O. Ward, a twenty-four year member of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office to the position of Jail Administrator. Ward scored #1 on the most recent Jail Administrators Civil Service examination held in October 2009.Jail Administrator Ward holds a Masters Degree in Management and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Keuka College, and is currently working on his second Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Keuka College, in Penn Yan, New York. In making the announcement Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg said “Roger has been a valuable asset to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility. His in depth knowledge of Correction Law and the operations of a Correctional Facility are without compare.” As we move towards achieving State-wide Accreditation of our Correctional Facility, we could not find a better Administrator who has both the formal educational and operational knowledge foundation to make our Correctional Facility one of the best in the State, if not, in the Nation.” Administrator Ward assumes his duties on Monday, April 26, 2010.
