Second Fire This Week in Williamson

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 – The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting three adults after a house fire in Williamson, NY today. The fire broke out around 1:00 p.m. at 6199 Lake Ave. in Williamson. The Red Cross is providing emergency food and clothing to the fire victims. On Sunday, the Wayne County Chapter assisted two people after a fire destroyed their home at 3534 Ridge Road in Williamson. The fire broke out at 3:25 a.m. on March 28th. The single family home is completely destroyed. Two adults were living in the home. The Red Cross provided food, clothing and shelter to the fire victims. Red Cross volunteers also provided mental health counseling for the family. The American Red Cross will also replace prescription medications lost in a fire. In this incident, the Red Cross replaced cancer medications for one of the adults left homeless by the fire. The cause of both fires remains under investigation.
