Seneca Community Players to Present Annual Awards!Seneca Community Players will once again gather to honor outstanding volunteers, welcome new Board members, and to celebrate a successful season and announce plans for 2010. All are welcome to join us for our Annual Awards Reception at Abigail’s Restaurant on Friday, March 26 at 6:00 PM. Award presentations this year will include: The Volunteer of the Year Award, the Leland G. Dewey Award, and the Life Time Achievement Award. This year’s Volunteer of The Year Award will be presented to Chris King. The Dewey Award, named after one of the founders of SCP and the award’s first recipient, Leland G. Dewey, is presented to an individual who has given their all – above and beyond the call of duty – for two or more consecutive years to SCP productions. This year’s recipient will be John King. SCP’s Lifetime Achievement Award, which is not necessarily given each year, is presented to an individual who has been actively involved with SCP and its productions for more than 15 years. This year, the players are proud to honor the valuable contributions of Lynn Patti. (A Youth Player of The Year Award and a Gypsy Robe award are given during years when SCP presents a youth production or has had a particularly active and deserving young person who has been involved with SCP productions and events during the year.)This year’s event will be an opportunity for all who have “played” with SCP throughout past years and anyone interested in becoming involved with the players to gather, review our successes, talk about the future, honor a few very special people, and to simply enjoy one another’s company. The cost per person will be $22 which includes a wide array of tempting hors d’oeuvres such as guacamole dip, nine layer Mexican dip, fresh fruit, cheese, and barbecue chicken wings. There will also be a cash bar. Please RSVP to John King at 539-8728 by Sunday, March 21 so that we will know how many to plan for. Don’t miss out on an evening of good food and good friends! Come play with us!
