Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg and Waterloo Police Chief Doyle Marquart announced that both agencies will be co-hosting a Child Safety Seat Inspection Program at the Ovid Fire Department on March 23, 2010 from noon to 8:00 p.m.. Sheriff Stenberg commented “Both the Sheriff’s Office and Waterloo Police have teamed up over the past few years to offer free Child Safety Seat Inspection Programs in the Village of Waterloo, and it is gratifying that Chief Marquart and the Waterloo Police have offered to assist us in providing this valuable service to Citizens in the South part of Seneca County.” Waterloo Police Chief Marquart remarked “We have enjoyed our relationship with the Sheriff’s Office in providing this most valuable public service in protecting our children. With the addition of our certified child safety seat technicians, to compliment those from the Sheriff’s Office for this event we can accommodate even more parents who wish to take part in this important program.” The Child Safety Seat Inspection program provides trained, specially certified police officers that inspect child safety seats for proper installation and functionality. A limited number of free seats are available.
