Glove House Provides New Services

Seneca County, NY – Glove House, Inc. serves youth and families in crisis from ten counties in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions of New York State. Operating numerous group homes and providing foster care, preventive and school based services, Glove House encourages change by reigniting hope, empowering children and families to live successfully within their neighborhoods, and helping them to want to create a positive future. As youth are provided with the basic life necessities and skills, Glove House also prepares the way for them to become productive and successful adults who will shape the future of their community.The organization has been physically located in Seneca County for four years providing Therapeutic Foster Boarding Home services throughout the Finger Lakes area.In late 2009, Seneca County put out a “Request For Proposals” for a contract to provide preventive and reintegrative service for county residents. Glove House was recently notified that they have been chosen as the private, not-for-profit organization that will provide these services to nearly 30 young people and families who are at imminent risk of the child being removed from the home.In a letter to Glove House informing them that the organization had been selected to provide Child Welfare Related Services at the Seneca County Division of Human Services, Seneca County Commissioner Charles L. Schillaci wrote, “Your proposal impressed our review panel and they believe your proposed services will best meet the needs of our community.”“We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to provide preventive and reintegrative services for Seneca County residents,” said John P. Treahy, Glove House President and CEO.The six new staff members will join the three existing employees at the Glove House offices located at 207 Main Street, Shop Centre located in Waterloo, New York.
