The Waterloo Police Department reports the arrest of John W. Shields, Jr.,32, of 5663 State Route 96 Romulus, NY for Robbery in the third degree, Attempted Assault in the third degree, and Petit Larceny. The arrest is the result of a complaint where it is alleged that Shields did go to a residence and confront the male resident, asking for money. Shields did punch the male on or about his jaw. The male then fled before being confronted again by Shields in a hallway. The male gave Shields money and again fled outside. Shield allegedly pulled the male down to the ground causing the male to strike his back and head. It is also alleged that Shields took items from the male’s apartment without the permission of the male owner. Shields was arraigned in the Waterloo Village Court and was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secure bond. Shields is to reappear in court at a later date.
