Pittsford, N.Y., February 11, 2010The Genesee Valley Trust (GVT) Board of Directors today announced the appointments of Brian P. Costello as President and Joy Ryen Plotnik as Chief Operating Officer of GVT effective immediately.As President, Mr. Costello will be responsible for the sales and service activities of GVT. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from St. John Fisher College and has over 20 years of financial planning and investment experience, which includes building and servicing a client base of not-for-profits, corporations and individuals. Brian is the Board President for the Rochester Presbyterian Home Foundation, a member of the Advancement Committee for McQuaid Jesuit and sits on the Bishop’s Stewardship Council for the Diocese of Rochester. As Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Plotnik will be focused on the day-to-day operations, fiduciary and compliance concerns and continued management of key client relationships. Joy earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Boston University Law School of Law. Joy works closely with all GVT clients along with their legal and tax advisors to assure a close coordination of efforts to meet their client goals. She has more than 15 years of experience as a practicing Trusts & Estate attorney Joy currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of the Strong National Museum of Play and Secretary of the Board of Children’s Institute. Her past community involvement includes the Harley School, the Jewish Home of Rochester, the Jewish Community Federation and the Monroe County Bar Association. GVT, located at 1211 Pittsford-Victor Road in Pittsford, remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Canandaigua National Corporation (CNC), offering high quality comprehensive financial services to individuals and businesses in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
