Waterloo Police Department arrested Andrew C. Riegel, age 21, of 13 Center St, Seneca Falls, NY for the charge of Criminal Trespass 3rd on 1/24/10, aclass B Misdemeanor.After receiving a report of a male riding between the railroad cars of a westbound train coming through the Village of Waterloo, Waterloo Police flagged down the train being operated by Finger Lakes Railway as itcrossed Center St in Waterloo. The train was stopped immediately and Riegel was observed jumping down from the train near Virginia St. He was then taken into custody by Waterloo Police. Traffic was held up for about 30 minutes on Stark St, Center St andVirginia St while the train was checked for further passengers and for safety by railroad personnel.Riegel was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Waterloo Village Court on 02/03/10. It is a reminder to the public that it is illegal to walk or drive uponany railroad tracks or areas adjacent to the railroad tracks posted by the railroad company pursuant to NYS Law, unless it is designated as a public or private crossing location.
