Lakeview Community Resources will host a groundbreaking ceremony Friday, January 29 at 1:30pm at the site of its new 40-unit, mixed use, affordable housing apartment complex on Balsley Road in Seneca Falls. This $8.5 million project, funded with the assistance of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR), the Office of Mental Health (OMH), and the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), is expected to be complete in November 2010. The building was designed by Plan Architectural Studio, P.C. and will be constructed by Lecesse Construction, both of Rochester, NY.“After two years of hard work and coordinated effort between the Town of Seneca Falls, OMH, and DHCR, we are excited to announce the groundbreaking of this apartment complex,” said Mark Wickham, LCR President/CEO. “We are very happy to improve housing opportunities for mentally ill community members as well as for those otherwise in need of affordable housing.”LCR is the development affiliate of Lakeview Mental Health Services. Lakeview MHS, based in Geneva, NY, has been an essential partner to Finger Lakes’ communities for more than 30 years providing mental health and rehabilitation services along with affordable housing.
