Seneca County Sheriff’s Dept. Launches Website

Seneca County Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg announces the launch of the new improved Seneca County Sheriff’s Office website on the Internet at http://sheriff.co.seneca.ny.usIn announcing the launch of the website, Sheriff Stenberg reported “With today’s launch of our newly designed website, citizens in Seneca County are only a mouse click away from obtaining critical information to protect not only themselves, but also their children by identifying sexual offenders who live in their neighborhoods or to being able to register to be notified by phone or email when a defendant is released from a correctional facility anywhere in the United States.” Our goal with redesigning our website was to provide the citizens of Seneca County with easy access to important information”, said the Sheriff. The site features direct links for victims of crime to access the State Crime Victims Board and local crime victim advocates along with important information crime victims should know.A feature we are most excited about is the ability to post on our website almost real- time ALERTS for the public’s information. In the event of a serious incident or crime we can post the most up to date near real-time information the people of Seneca County need to protect themselves and their families. We will post ALERTS to notify residents of Seneca County crime trends in their communities such as break-in’s or scams circulating against unsuspecting victims.“In our effort to be accountable to those we serve the website describes the operations of the Sheriff’s Office as well as each of the Divisions within the Office of Sheriff. The overall operation of the Sheriff’s Office consumes a great deal of taxpayer funding and it is incumbent on this administration to expend those funds in a fiscally conservative manner. Our website describes all of the functions of the Sheriff’s Office and what we do with those valuable public funds.Another website feature allows users to request a “Property Check” of their property while away for an extended time using a secure on-line form, or another feature which allows anyone to report directly to the Sheriff’s Administration positive and or negative contact with any of our employees.Looking for a public service presentation for your service group?
