Shawn Bossard, Executive Director for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca County, has announced his resignation as of January 3, 2010. Shawn has been leading CCE of Seneca County since June of 2005. He has been offered a position with SUNY Morrisville managing their teaching dairy facility. This position offered him a unique opportunity to utilize a combination of skill sets – management, teaching, and outreach that he found irresistible.Shawn has worked long and hard with the Board of Directors, staff, and community to ensure the delivery of quality programming, including agriculture, youth development, and human nutrition education. Most recently, CCE of Seneca County has offered energy conservation workshops, teaching homeowners how to save money by conserving energy. By working with staff on strategic planning for programs, Shawn has made sure that CCE of Seneca County will continue offering top quality educational programs. His final day of work will be December 24, 2009. The Executive board and Cornell University is making this transition as seamless as possible and are moving quickly to re-fill the position. Shawn indicated that this was an extremely difficult decision, but this move is better for him personally and professionally.
