Bellringing Help in Macedon & Newark Needed

The Macedon and Newark Salvation Army Service Units in Wayne County still have a critical shortage of bellringers. “We urgently need bellringing help here — especially since we lost bellringing days during last week’s bad weather,” said Rod Ballengee, field representative.Ballengee asks that individuals and groups call the Red Kettle Center toll free at 1-877-764-7259, or go online to RedKettles.org.Those who cannot ring at a kettle site, but would like to help, can become virtual bellringers or make a tax-deductible donation at onlineredkettle.org. “Just indicate that you would like your gift to go to services in Macedon or Newark, NY and provide the zip code,” said Ballengee.Money raised in Wayne County communities is used to provide local services. This past year, Wayne County Service Unit Committees have been able to send children to camp and provide emergency assistance to families in crisis thanks to a successful Red Kettle campaign last year.
