Salvation Army Seeks People to Adopt-A-Family

The Geneva Salvation Army is experiencing an increase in the number of families requesting assistance for Christmas.“The increase is probably due to the hardships our families are facing due to the economic situation,” noted Lt. Francisco Rivera, co-director. “We need the help of the community in providing holiday assistance for these families.”If there are any businesses, groups or individuals who would like to know more about adopting a family for Christmas, please call The Salvation Army of Geneva at 315-789-1055 or stop by the corps at 41 North Street.“Basically, the business or group is given a family for whom it provides gifts and food for Christmas. While you don’t know the name of the family, you know that one family will have a better holiday thanks to your specific act of kindness,” explained Lt. Rivera. He added, “we would like to thank everyone in the community who is helping families in need during a very difficult time of year.”
