Subjects and story lines include people with HIV/AIDS from throughout the world and all walks of life: AIDS children and orphans and those caring for them; doctors, nurses and social workers; human rights advocates; and prominent scientists, economists, researchers, government leaders and NGO officials. Through these individuals, the film explores such issues as the underlying causes of AIDS; the relationship between health, dignity and human rights; and the universal need for action, compassion and commitment to counter what has become the worst plague in human history.Sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services, the Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen series this year is focused on the theme of “LGBT Lives and Stories from Around the World.” For more information, visit http://www.ithaca.edu/lgbt/.
