On Wednesday, 11/13/09 at approximately 1:10 a.m. the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Aaron M. Ward, age 24, of 1008 Waterloo-Geneva Rd, Lot 17, Waterloo, NY 13165 following a routine traffic stop. Village police report that they observed a suspicious vehicle traveling through the Academy Square parking lot without any headlights on. Police then conducted a traffic stop and found Ward to be operating the vehicle. Officers also had prior knowledge that Ward’s driving privileges were suspended. Police report that Ward refused to perform the field sobriety test and then fled the scene on foot leading officers on a brief foot chase. Once apprehended, Ward became aggressive and resisted arrest and attempted to strike one officer after being taken into custody. Upon checking Ward for weapons, officers located several small baggies of marijuana on his person. Ward was brought to the police station where he continued physically resist with officers. Ward was arrested for Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd, Resisting Arrest, Attempted Assault on a Police Officers, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, DWI, DWI with .08 BAC or greater, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Headlights. He was arraigned before Judge Mahoney in Seneca Falls Town Court and committed to SCCF on $10,000 Cash/$20,000 Bond and has to re-appear for a felony hearing on 11/18/09 at 10:00 a.m.
