Premio or adjudicación means award in Spanish. The verb adjudicar means that a six hundred person group of her peers awarded South Seneca Middle School Spanish teacher, Karen Sanchez the winner of the Charles Zimmerman Award. At the NYS Association of Foreign Language Teachers annual conference in Buffalo, NY recently, Ms. Sanchez was also recognized for co-chairing the NYSAFLT Southern Tier regional meeting. This award is a grant that will be used for student travel by the South Seneca Yorker’s travel club on their trip to the southern region of Spain that includes Madrid and Andalucia in February, 2010. The group still has several fundraisers this year and students are still invited to join the group on the trip. Please contact Ms. Sanchez at ksanchez@southseneca.k12.ny.us. Congratulations Ms. Sanchez!
