The Bloomfield Steelers youth football A-Team became the first team in the program’s 35-year history to finish a season with an undefeated record. The Steelers achieved a perfect 10-0 record while averaging 29 points-per-game on offense and allowing just 6 points-per-game on defense. Both are all time program records. There defense was the top ranked in the 15 team league, and their offense ranked second. As the only undefeated team in the Finger Lakes Youth Football and Cheerleading League, Bloomfield defeated four previously unbeaten teams and six of their wins were against squads with a combined 35-9 record.Statistically, the Steelers rushed for 3,189 yards with 31 touchdowns. Their defense, which had all 20 members of the team makes tackles, finished with 27 sacks and 11 interceptions.Following their 39-0 season finale win over Penn Yan, the Steelers were escorted through the town of Bloomfield by two Fire Trucks and 21 cars painted in the teams achievements.
