Finger Lakes Community College will host a faculty recital on Thursday, Oct. 29, in room B355, on the third floor of the main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive.The 7 p.m. recital, which is free and open to the public, will feature three ensembles.David McGuire, associate professor of music, will perform on piano his new composition, which he describes as jazz and new music based on Americana. McGuire will be joined by Geoff Smith, associate professor of music recording, on bass; Paul McArdle, adjunct instructor of applied music, on guitar; Tristan Greene, an FLCC alumnus, on drums; and community member, Elena Ryck, on violin.The band Doja will introduce a new composition of jazz, fusion and other styles by Paul McArdle, adjunct instructor of applied music. The group features McArdle on guitar; Elliott Kirby, FLCC alumnus, on bass; Tristan Greene, an FLCC alumnus on drums; and Willy O’Riley, an FLCC alumnus, on keyboards.Pianist, Eun Mi Ko, adjunct instructor of applied music, who recently completed her doctorate of music arts in piano performance, will perform. She will be accompanied by community members, Sini Virtanen, on violin and Svetlana Garitselova on cello.Several other faculty members will also take part in the recital.
