On September 9, 2009 at 10:14 PM the Village of Seneca Falls Police responded to 25 Peterman Road Apartment H2 for a 911 call stating that a young female juvenile might possibly be choking. When Police arrived on scene to the apartment authorities observed a 6 year old, 5 year old, 3 year old and a 7 month old child were left alone in the apartment with no supervision. While speaking with the 6 year old the mother of the children arrived on scene. The mother being Shantel R. Crosslin, age 25. Crosslin then stated to police that she had just left the children home alone for only five minutes or so. Crosslin was then charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and was then arraigned at the Town of Junius Court in front of Judge Laird. Crosslin was then committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 bail. Crosslin has to appear in front of Judge Mahoney at the Town of Seneca Falls Court on September 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM to answer her charges. A Class A Order of Protection has also been issued for Crosslin to stay away from her children.
