The Corning Area and the Watkins Glen Area Chambers of Commerce invite businesses in the surrounding communities to join a collaborative Government Affairs panel discussion that will focus on national and state issues, pending legislation and trends, to learn how New York businesses will be affected and identify how area business resources can help in a difficult economy:“Navigating the NEW Road to Success …Identifying the Challenges & Opportunities for Upstate New York Businesses!”The Radisson Hotel Corning8:00 am – 8:30 am … Continental Breakfast8:00 am – 9:30 am … Panel Discussion9:30 am – 10:00 am … Panel Questions & Answers10:00 am – 11:30 am … Informational break-out sessionsThis government affairs event will feature guest speakers including U.S. Congressman Eric Massa, the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, the Business Council of New York State, the Department of Labor, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the New York State Economic Development Council. As a bonus component of this educational program, businesses will be invited to speak one-on-one with several local business assistance organizations following the panel discussions. The special business break-out sessions will include such organizations as CSS Workforce Development, Small Business Administration and the Corning Chamber to provide information on health insurance options for businesses and sole proprietors.There is no charge for Chamber Members to attend this program, and non-Members are encouraged to attend for only $15/person.
