Update: 8/2/09 @ 7:40 pm – Search called off, to resume Monday morning. Update: 8/2/09 @ 5:52 pm – Crews are still searching and will continue until dark. Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and searching for Dennis M. Jones (50 years old) of Seneca Falls, New York. Mr. Jones fell overboard while securing the boat’s anchor. Family on board attempted to reach Mr. Jones but was unable. The Cayuga County 911 Center took a call on Sunday, August 02, 2009 around 12:21 am. The search commenced immediately and continues on the North End of Cayuga Lake west of the Village of Cayuga. Along with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and Onondaga County Air One, assisting were the Cayuga County Emergency Management Office, Seneca County Emergency Management Office, Cayuga Fire Department, Border City Fire Department, Red Jacket Fire Department, Aurelius Fire Department, Union Springs Fire Department, Aurora Fire Department, Fair Haven Fire Department, Red Creek Fire Department, Fleming Fire Department, Owasco Fire Department, TLC Ambulance, Rural Metro Ambulance and the Highland Search and Rescue Team.Click here to discuss this story
