Waterloo Police Beat for 7/27

7/26/09 ARREST Patrick A. Wahl, age 25, of 26 Church St, Waterloo, NY was arrested for Burglary 2nd, Criminal Mischief 4th and Petit Larceny for allegedly forcing his way into a Waterloo residence and stealing a small amount of money on 7/26/09. He was arraigned in Waterloo Village Court and sent to SCCF on no bail. He is to reappear on 9/2/09 @ 0900 hrs to answer the charges.7/24/09 INCIDENT – ROAD CLOSUREEast Main Street was closed for 45 minutes on Friday afternoon after a pickup truck lost its fuel tank and leaked approximately 20 gallons of gasoline on the roadway. Thomas Truax of Waterloo was westbound near Mill St at 6:30 PM when the fuel tank broke free from the vehicle and began leaking. Truax was able to stop the vehicle and move to safety. Waterloo Fire Dept was able to contain the fuel spill to about a 40 foot stretch along the north shoulder of the roadway, stopping it from reaching the storm drains and sewer system. The spill was cleaned up by the fire department and the road was reopened at about 7:15 PM. The incident was caused by deteriated straps securing the fuel tank in place. No tickets were issued.7/24/09 ARRESTLonnie B. Hunt, age 18, 111 Virgnia St Apt 5, Waterloo was arrested on for Assault 3rd. He is alleged to have been in a physical altercation with a 19 y.o. male on 7/17/09 at his residence and the male suffered a mild concussion and a broken nose. Hunt was sent to the SCCF on $1000/$2000 bail. He is to reappear in Waterloo Village Court on 9/2/09.7/22/09 ARRESTA 14 year old Town of Junius youth was arrested for petit larceny for shoplifting from Stiver’s Store #2, 18 E. Main St., Waterloo. The youth was caught stealing a pack of cigarettes from the business on 7/15/09. The youth was petitioned into Seneca County Family Court.
