PathStone Corporation (formerly Rural Opportunities, Inc.) receives $400,000 from the New York State HOME program to assist first time homebuyers in Ontario County. The PathStone Ontario County HOMEfirst program will provide at least 20 low-income families with housing purchase and moderate rehabilitation assistance. The program is designed to help low-income families attain homeownership by offering home buyer training and education, financial education, financial counseling, mortgage loan application assistance, financial assistance including grants and low interest loans, post-purchase workshops, post-purchase one-on-one counseling and assistance with housing rehabilitation. The program will operate countywide. The maximum grant will be $20,230 per eligible household with up to $10,000 available for rehabilitation before occupancy. Participation in the PathStone Homeownership education, training and counseling program is required for anyone interested in HOMEfirst grant assistance.
