Medley of Tastes winners announced

Products from two wineries and two eateries were voted the best at the annual Medley of Tastes Monday, June 22, at Houghton House.Nearly 400 people attended the annual event that is presented by The Finger Lakes Regional Arts Council to raise funds for family and children’s programming at its centerpiece venue, the historic Smith Opera House in downtown Geneva, NY.Nearly 50 food and wine vendors from the Finger Lakes participated in the Medley of Tastes. The attendees voted for the following winners:Best food taste – Pasta Only Cobblestone;Best wine taste – Billsboro Estates Winery;Best desert taste – Springmeier Chocolatier; andBest presentation – Knapp Winery & Vineyards restaurant.“The arts council is so thankful for the vendors, volunteers, sponsors and patrons who come through every year to make the Medley of Tastes a signature event in Geneva,” said Wendy Marsh, Chair of the arts council Board of Directors.The 12th Medley of Tastes this year offered an elegant and inviting evening of fabulous food and delicious drink. In addition to sampling dozens of fine wines and tastes from some of the finest providers in the region, all of the patrons received a complimentary limited edition 2009 Medley wine glass and buffet tray. Many also enjoyed the exciting wine and “mystery prize” table.The sponsors this year were: C.S. Burrall & Son, Inc. Insurance; Hancock & Estabrook, LLP; Geneva Awning & Tent Works, Inc.; Pedulla’s Liquor Store; Hobart and William Smith Colleges; and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.Thomas McClure provided music for the evening.The Finger Lakes Regional Arts Council works with local arts organizations to support and advocate for the arts in Geneva.
