Artwork by Honeoye glass artist Becky Congdon has been selected by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers for their Perspectives: Traditions and Innovations in Glass Beads exhibition and part of the Glass Art Society Conference in Corning, NY. The exhibit will be held at Corning’s Radisson Hotel from June 5 to September 7. As explained by Kendra Bruno, President of ISGB, “This juried exhibit presented by ISGB, represents the endlessly captivating styles, techniques, and processes used in contemporary glass beadmaking. Unique color, form, and textural elements were combined to highlight the infinite possibilities of glass, as expressed by our members. Artists were encouraged to create a bead that best captured their inspiration, innovation, and personal ‘voice.’” Congdon’s unique aquarium glass bead, “Three Amigos,” is one of over fifty beads presented in the exhibit. She is a professionally trained glass flamework/lampwork artist and has been working with glass since 1997. She teaches classes in her own studio in Honeoye, NY and at The Corning Museum of Glass.
