On May 20, 2009 at approximately 12:28 pm, the Seneca Falls Police along with Seneca Falls Fire Department were dispatched to the rear parking lot of Mynderse Middle School, located at 95 Troy Street for the report of a STS bus on fire. Upon arrival, officers found heavy gray smoke coming from the engine compartment. The bus was approximately four to five feet from the building. Officers requested that the school to be evacuated due to the close proximity of the bus to the building. The fire was extingushed without any further incidents. The students were then allowed back into the school. At no time were any students, school staff or any other personal in any immediate danger. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. On May 19, 2009 at approximately 3:59 pm. Seneca Falls Village Police arrested Donna M. Carissimi, age 51 of 6 Prospect Street SenecaFalls NY 13148. Carissimi was arrested on Cayuga Street and charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI with BAC greater than .18 %, failed to keep right and consumption of an alcohol beverage in a motor vehicle. Carissimi was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and was ROR’d. Carissimi is to re-appear on June 10, 2009 at 11:30 am.
