The Syracuse International Film Festival will host a daylong event at the Public Theater in Auburn, which will feature programs of films for both adults and children.Beginning at 2 PM on the afternoon of Saturday, April 4, SYRFILMFEST will present two-hours of youth-oriented film (for ages 10 and over) that will include the best kid-friendly animations and short features from past festival years. Popcorn and pizza, will be available. The admission is $5. Parents are also welcome to attend and enter raffles to win festival tickets and t-shirts.Later on Saturday, beginning at 8:00 PM, SYRFILMFEST invites parents—and film-lovers of all ages—back to the Public Theater for an evening of cinema that will preview a 2009 Syracuse Film Festival entry and revisit a favorite from last year’s festival. The short, “Animated American,” will be premiered in advance of its official festival presentation. It will be followed by a full-length feature from last year’s festival, “Lora.” A 2008 entry from Italy, Lora is a beautifully-made film for lovers of mystery and fine wine.
