Seneca County Sheriff Deputies investigated a personal injury accident that occurred a the intersection of Rt.96A and West River Rd in the town of Fayette. Deputies report that a vehicle driven by Gerturde D. Turner age 92 of 2764 Carter Rd Geneva NY, went through the stop sign at the intersection heading east towards West River Rd, struck a vehicle driven by James W. Holt age 36 of 603 Donalds Rd. Ithaca NY, which was heading north bound on Rt.96A. Holt attempted to avoid the collison when he struck a vehicle stopped at the stop sign at West River Rd, driven by Richard Knowlton age 82 of 146 Slosson Ln. Geneva NY. Turner was air lifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head injury. Front seat passenger in Holts vehicle, Maija Cantori age 29 of 603 Donalds Rd Ithaca and two back seat passangers, Viola I. Jones age 8 and Kai Holt age 1 both of 603 Donalds Rd Ithaca NY; were all uninjured. Front seat passenger of Knowlton’s vehicle, Stanley D. Proffitt age 68 of 66 Bay Height Crl. Geneva NY and back seat passengers, Norma Knowlton age 81 of 146 Slosson Ln Geneva NY and Sandra Proffitt age 66 of 66 Bay Height Crl Geneva NY were not injured. All parties involved were checked at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance. Also assisting at the scene, Serven Fire Department and NY State Police. Investigation to continue.
