The Waterloo Police Department on February 2,2009 at 10:30 P.M. arrested Brian R. Derby of 7 West Main Street Waterloo on the charges of Petit Larceny and Attempted Petit Larceny. The charges stem fromincidents on December 18th and 19th 2008 .Derby went to Jean Jeans Store located at 64 Washington Street in the Village of Waterloo and told the Owner he brought back refundable cans worth $10.00 on December 18,2008 and the money but brought back no cans. Derby then returned on December 19,2008 and attempted togain $40 by telling the clerk he brought back $40 in returnable cans but did not bring any cans back. The clerk took the $40 back from Derby. Derby was arraigned before Waterloo Village Justice Dean Mattoon and ROR’ed to reappear on March 4,2009 at 9:00A.M. to answer the charges.
