Seneca Chamber preps for Annual Dinner

Attendees to the Seneca County Chamber’s upcoming Annual Dinner will have a chance to bid on fabulous vacation get-aways, premier sporting event tickets, art and much more. The Chamber’s premier event is being sponsored by Five Star Bank, on January 23, 2009, at the Waterloo/Seneca Falls Holiday Inn.The live auction portion of the program will include a week-long getaway, valued at over $3,000. The winning bidder will receive two round trip Air-Tran plane tickets to anywhere in the continental US, and a one week’s stay at one of hundreds of vacation rentals. Other featured auction items include weekend stays at the Knapp Winery Lake House and the Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars. The silent auction features many exciting packages and unique items, including aCanadian Metro Get-Away; four hours of DJ service; SU vs. Georgetown Basketball tickets, and artwork by local artists.In addition, three of Seneca County’s Shining Stars will be honored at this premier event. Molly Mahoney-Thurston, Assistant Vice President of First Niagara Bank, has been named Citizen of the Year. William “Bill” Velte, Jr., former owner of Nugent Hardware, will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Sessler Companies has been selected as Business of the Year.The Annual Dinner Meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with the silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, and refreshments, followed by dinner, the awards presentations, and the live auction. State Senator Michael Nozzolio, Assemblyman Brian Kolb and Chuck Lafler, Chair of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors are scheduled to speak as well.
