Earlier today, teens from the Sullivan Trail Red Cross Youth Council and the Elmira College Red Cross Club donated stuffed frogs and beanie bears to Schuyler Hospital, for children in the Hospital over the holidays.Five teens gave 10 gift bags of the stuffed animals to the Hospital – a first-time project that they hope to continue in the future. The frogs were hand-made for the Red Cross by senior citizens.“These will be greatly appreciated by the children we see over the holidays,” said Pearl Jayne, Nurse Manager for Schuyler Hospital’s Emergency Department, who expressed her gratitude to the teens when they delivered the gifts.Students visiting the Hospital included Zach Pipe and Jacob Roth, seniors at Watkins Glen High School; Alyssa Bruno and Rebecca VanSkiver, seniors at Odessa-Montour High School; and Steven Combs, a freshman at Elmira College. For more information, contact Schuyler Hospital at (607) 535-8879 or go to www.schuylerhospital.org; or contact the Sullivan Trail Red Cross at (607) 734-3317 or www.redcrosselmira.org.
