Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, that Sheriff Deputies responded to State Route 89 in the Town of Varick for a report of personal injury auto accident. When Sheriff Deputies arrived there was a vehicle being operated by Aileen M. Boyd age 29 of 315 N. Albany Street Ithaca pinned against a utility pole. Boyd was able to free herself on her own. South Seneca Ambulance responded to the scene and treated her for minor injuries then transported to Cayuga Medical Center. N.Y.S.E.G responded to the scene and power had to be cut to the area for about 45 minutes while a transformer was replaced on the utility pole which she hit. The vehicle was heavily damaged and towed from the scene. It was determined that snow covered roads and speed were a contributing factor. There were no tickets issued.
