2-car crash at Waterloo Outlet Mall entrance

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, on 12-06-08 at 6:51 pm, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to State Route 318 in front of the Waterloo Premium Outlets for the report of a two car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival the accident was found to be blocking the entrance and exit of the mall at the traffic light. The accident occurred when a 2006 Ford Explorer being operated by Frank J. Mugnola, age 52 of 3141 Cedarbush Dr. Canandaigua, NY attempted to make a left turn into the Outlet Center from the eastbound lane of 318. When Mugnola turned, he turned in front of a 2004 Chevrolet Cobalt which was traveling westbound on State Route 318 through the intersection operated by Steven J. Vandewalle, age 36 of 350 E. Union St. Newark, NY. Neither driver was injured in the crash but 3 passengers in the Cobalt suffered minor injuries. Randi L. Vandewalle age 32 of the Newark address was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital for complaints of neck and chest pain, Erica Vandewalle age 13 of the 350 Union St Newark address was transported by Fingerlakes Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital for a checkover and Darryl Vandewalle age 12 also of the Union St address was transported to Geneva General Hospital for a check over by North Seneca Ambulance. Both vehicle were towed from the scene. Junius Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, Fingerlakes Ambulance and Lyons all assisted at the scene.
