“The action taken by the District Attorneys and Sheriffs of Seneca and Cayuga Counties earlier today sends a strong message to NYS Governor David Paterson that our two counties will indeed enforce the law that is on the books to collect sales tax from tribal business enterprises; something Albany has neglected to do. Hard to believe – Seneca and Cayuga County – the little engine that could!” “I am especially proud of the effort of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors and the Cayuga County Legislature in working in concert on this major milestone that just took place today”. “It just shows you that two of the smallest counties in New York State are willing to do what’s right for its residents, for its taxpayers, and for its businesses.”“The Citizens Advisory Committee would like to think that making noise, in a professional manner, was our greatest offensive weapon. To think back over the past year, maybe it was the combination of the October motorcade, the great media coverage, numerous letters to the Editor, and especially the long hard effort shown by the Seneca-Cayuga UCE chapter made a difference on what took place today”.What’s next ?
