Ithaca State Theatre to celebrate 80th anniversary

The State Theatre celebrates its 80th birthday this December with a weekend of 1920s themed events. Festivities begin on Saturday, December 6th with a pre-show party at the State Theatre speakeasy from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Enjoy hooch and hors d’ouevres from Simply Red Bistro, enter the costume contest, and place your bids at the silent auction. The Squirrel Nut Zippers show begins at 8:00pm. Gold tickets holders are invited to stay afterward and toast the Theatre’s birthday with the performers. The special gold tickets, available for $80, provide premier seating and entry to all Saturday events plus Sunday’s activities.Sunday, December 7th is Film and Family Fare. Enjoy food, frolicking and family fun at the State Theatre starting at 1:30pm. A silent film from the era (title to be announced) will be screened at 2:00pm at the 1928 price of 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for kids.Gold ticket holders have access to all 80th birthday weekend events.
