Car-Bike Accident in Interlaken

Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a personal injury motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle striking a bicyclist. The accident occurred at the intersection of C.R. 143 and C.R. 142 in the Town of Covert. The vehicle driven by Stephen C. Treleaven age 47 of 9035 Lodi-Covert Townline Rd. Interlaken, NY was driving south on C.R. 142 when he did not stop for the stop sign at intersection. He proceeded through intersection striking Micahael E. George age 50 of 9464 Lodi-Covert Townline Rd. who was heading east on C.R. 143 on his bicycle. George was treated at the scene by Truamnsburg Ambulance and Fire Dept. He was transported to CMC for further medical evaluation for minor contusions to his right hand and complaint of pain to his shoulder. Treleaven was issued a UTT for failure to stop for stop sign and is to appear in the Town of Covert Court on December 15, 2008 to answer to the charge.
