The Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce has proudly announced the hiring of Rebekah LaMoreaux, former bookkeeper for the Chamber, as the new Director of Finance and Operations. Rebekah has a broad background in finance and accounting, as she was previously employed in the Finance Department for Schuyler Hospital; was as an independent contractor for several local businesses- including the Chamber, offering her expertise in accounting; as well as being the former Interim Director of Operations for the Gaffer District in Corning. In her new position, she will assume all aspects of the financial reporting processes for the Chamber, and additionally will be responsible for handling all Human Resources activities. “I am excited to have Rebekah on board,” stated Crystal M. Ricks, new President and CEO of the Chamber. “I am more than confident that Rebekah has the skills needed to excel in her new position, as the Schuyler Chamber continues to move forward,” she added.Rebekah lives in Burdett with her two children Ryanna and Ali, and her husband Mike. She was the recent recipient of the Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW) scholarship, for her outstanding essay regarding the HEART Act for Women. Rebekah will be utilizing the scholarship towards finishing her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Corning Community College. Upon graduation, she plans on continue on to Empire State College where she will receive her bachelors degree in accounting.
