Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, on 09-29-08 at 6:51 pm, Deputies responded to the home of Robert and Andrea McLaughlin located at 2735 County Road 139 Ovid, NY 14521 for the reported structure fire. Upon arrival at the scene fire could be seen coming from the second floor of the residence. Ovid Fire Department responded to the blaze along with Interlaken and Lodi Fire Departments and South Seneca Ambulance for mutual aid. The fire was quickly brought under control but the residence suffered major fire damage to the second floor and water damage to the first floor as a result of the fire- the home was reported to be un-insured by McLaughlin. Ovid Fire Department’s Chief Palmer reported the fire was ruled an electrical fire. No one was injured.
