Fayette man charged after rape of Ohio juvenile

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Ray D Keefer AGE:50 of 3529 Rt#89 Fayette NY. Keefer was arrested after a warrant of arrest was issued from the City of Westerville, Ohio for interference of custody. Keefer allegedly had driven to Ohio to visit a juvenile that he had met on the internet and when he returned to New York he had the Juvenile with him. The Juvenile an Ohio resident had left home without permission and was deemed a runaway. While in New York Keefer and the Juvenile allegedly had sexual relations while at Keefers home on three separate occasions. Keefer was arrested and arraigned before Town of Seneca Falls Justice Mahoney for the offenses of Being a fugitive from justice and three counts of Rape in the third degree. Keefer was sent to the Seneca County Correctional facility on no bail for the charge of Fugitive from Justice and bail was set for the Rape charges at $50,000.00 cash or $100,000.00 bond. Keefer is to reappear at a later date for further court action. The Juvenile was remanded to Hopewell Detention center as a runaway by Seneca County Family court judge Bender. Both will be appearing in Ohio court at a later date to answer charges there.
