Too much wake leads to boating DWI on canal

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports the arrests of John A. Mcdougal age 38 of 425 West Main St. Waterloo, NY and Brett S. Lambert age 20 of 3818 Ridge Rd. Seneca Falls, NY. The charges stem from an incident on the Seneca Cayuga Canal where it is alleged that Mcdougal was operating a vessel causing wake. Mcdougal’s vessel was stopped at Lock 3 in the Village of Seneca Falls where Mcdougal was interviewed and given Field Sobriety Tests. Mcdougal was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating a Vessel while Intoxicated, Operating a Vessel with a BAC of .08 or more and two counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child for allowing the consumption of an alcolholic beverage by two twenty year olds. Mcdougal was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court by Justice Mahoney on the Operating a Vessel while Intoxicated charge and was remanded on $500 cash / $1000 bond. Cash bail was posted at the court. During the investigation, Lambert continually interfered with the interview and Field Sobriety Tests of Mcdougal by yelling and interrupting Deputies. Lambert was arrested for Obstructing Governmental Administration. Lambert was issued an appearance ticket. Both parties are to be back in court on August 27, 2008.
