Seneca Sheriff Announces Boater Safety Course

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that, due to the demand, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting an additional Boating Safety Course at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center: 6150 Route 96 Romulus New York 14541. The course will be held on August 16th 2008 from 8:00 Am to 4:00PM. This class is for children and adults and meets New York State requirements for persons age 10-18 to operate a motor boat and persons age 14 and older to operate personal watercraft–(Also known as Jet Skis). Students will receive their certification at the completion of the class which includes an exam. Students should bring a pen and pack a lunch. All course materials are provided. The class will be taught by experienced officers. Students will learn boating rules and regulations as well as how to handle emergencies on the waterways.There is no charge for the course.
