Schuyler County Youth Showcase Coming Up

The Schuyler County Youth Showcase is scheduled for July 25-26, 2008 at the Youth Site on Meads Hill Rd., Watkins Glen. Over the past year, 4-H members throughout the county have been preparing projects that range from animals to woodworking, and everything in between! 4-Hers are excited to show off their achievements to the public.Through preparing and showcasing their talents, these events offer our youth the exceptional learning experiences needed to build self-confidence and maturity. But most of all, 4-Hers enjoy entertaining the community that has encouraged them along the way!4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. With over seven million young people throughout America, 4-H has grown to encompass youth from urban cities to rural towns. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth, grades K-13, on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.On Friday, July 25, the schedule includes a horse show and exhibit judging. Saturday, July 26, has a continuation of the horse show, shows for dog, rabbit, and poultry, a youth talent showcase and the exhibits building will be open all day (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) for public viewing. Also on Saturday youth can try Geocaching with Jenna, and use GPS systems to find hidden treasures around the site. There will be food for sale at the food booth on Saturday only.
