The Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce/Watkins Glen Promotions has announced that this year, “Racing Thunder”, formally known as “Thunder in the Glen”, will be held over THREE days this year; August 6th, 7th, and 8th, and will encompass Thunder in the Glen, Thunder in the Falls, and Thunder in the Streets.This Schuyler County event is a unique, three-day festival extravaganza, with different themed venues, located at Seneca Harbor Park on the Watkins Glen waterfront, Montour Falls’ historic Main Street, and the on the ‘famed’ Franklin Street in Watkins Glen. “Racing Thunder” is free and open to the public, and runs from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. each day.On Wednesday, August 6th, “Thunder in the Glen” activities will include waterside events held at Seneca Harbor Park. An impressive Centurion boat display will be available, including professional wake boarding demonstrations. Food vendors, NASCAR collectibles, Show Cars, music, wine tasting, and Finger Lakes Rail excursions will also be featured.The line up for Thursday, August 7th, includes “Thunder in the Falls”, on beautiful Main Street in Montour Falls. Race enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see classic cars, Show Cars, and even purchase NASCAR collectibles. Children’s entertainment, food vendors and live music will also be included. Not just for the parents, this day is set up to be entertainment for the whole family!Wrapping up this three-day event is “Thunder in the Streets”, held on Friday, August 8th. Car clubs, Show Cars, racing memorabilia, food and shopping will all be on display on Franklin Street in Watkins Glen.
