Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that at about 3:17 AM on May 16th, 2008, Deputy’s responded to Stanton Meadows Apartment Complex located at 2133 State Route 5, in the Town of Seneca Falls for a report of a domestic disturbance. Following an investigation of the domestic disturbance, Deputies arrested Brandyn L. Backus, age 22, of 931 Marsh Road, Seneca Falls, NY for endangering the welfare of a child, harassment in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. It is alleged that Backus entered the apartment and forced his way into the bedroom while his ex-girlfriend was laying in bed with their infant. While in the bedroom, Backus choked and struck his ex-girlfriend while the infant was next to her. Backus was arragned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court and held in the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2000.00 bail or $4000.00 bond. He is to reappear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court on May 28th, 2008 to answer to these charges.
