The “Bark Heard Round The World” Coming

We are pleased to invite you to be a part of “The Bark Heard Around the World” to be held at the Yates County Fairgrounds in Penn Yan NY from 10am-4pm on May17th, 2008. Co-hosted by Puppymillrescue.com and the Beverly Animal Shelter in Waterloo NY, this is an event to bring awareness to the plight of the puppy mill dog. It will be a day filled with educational speakers, music, vendors, an animal communicator and demonstrations. Visit with more than 30 local and National rescues, and get the chance to see the wonderful dogs they have for adoption. Speakers for this event include Franklin McMillan DVM from the Best Friends Sanctuary in Utah – http://www.bestfriends.org/atthesanctuary/ This is the dog sanctuary currently housing many of the Michael Vick dogs. Mike Harder from the European Hockey League, Dana Beck Harder – author and President of Bill Alder Books Carl Darby DVM from Seneca County. Robin Pressnall is a singer, an author, and Executive Director of Small Paws Rescue (SPR), a charitable, Federal not-for-profit organization. Robin co-founded Small Paws Rescue (smallpawsrescue.org) in September 1998. Currently supported by over 6,000 people in 23 countries and 800 volunteers across America. Robin is also a published author with the “Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul” series. We are thrilled to be able to have with us the art Exhibit “Puppies are Biodegradable” http://www.puppiesarebiodegradable.com Unspeakable violence is taking place in Puppy Mills – the show consists of original artwork created especially in support of the cause. The range of artists reflects the diversity of contemporary art practices, and unites them into one theme: They give voice to the tortured lives of thousands of dogs. Come and meet the amazing gentlemen from Rescue Ink www.rescueink.com and hear about their efforts to rescue dogs wherever they need their help. The main thing that brings them together is their love of animals. They met because they were all doing the same thing in their spare time: rescuing and finding homes for abandoned and abused animals. Gail Furst of K-9 Healers will be conducting the Canine Good Citizen test at the event. Please join us for a candlelight vigil at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce building at 8pm on Friday the 16th. The chamber building is located on Routes 5 and 20 on the waterfront in downtown Geneva. FOR INFO: Please visit http://www.puppymillrescue.com/bark.htm for more information on this wonderful event!
