The City of Ithaca Department of Public Works will resume curbside collection of yard waste effective Monday, March 31, 2008. Yard waste will be collected every other week and will take place during the weeks that recycling is not collected.Residents may place yard waste at the curb on their regular trash collection days. Loose materials must be placed in open top cans or in bags that are not tied. Branches must be tied in bundles that do not exceed four (4) feet in length and are not more than fifty (50) pounds. Individual branches cannot exceed two (2) inches in diameter. Trash Tags are not required for the disposal of yard waste. As yard waste is collected separately from trash, it will not be removed at the same time as trash during the day.Questions related to this Public Works service may be addressed to the Streets and Facilities Office at 272-1718.
