Peggy Haine will be the featured speaker at the Women Making History Day celebration on March 27 at the Women’s Community Building, 100 W. Seneca Street. Her topic is “Ithaca’s Wild Women of the 70s.” The public is invited to attend this free event, which is sponsored by the City Federation of Women’s Organizations in celebration of National Women’s History Month. Mayor Carolyn Peterson will be among the local women being honored for making history and building community in Ithaca. The evening begins with an Open House at 7:00 p.m. featuring the 13 organizations that comprise the Federation. The program begins at 7:30. There will be refreshments and door prizes.A Women’s History Timeline is on display in the auditorium of the Women’s Community Building throughout March.
