Watkins Glen Village Christmas Contest Winners

Village Christmas organizers recently announced winners of contests held during the festival on December 7, 2007, in downtown Watkins Glen.Contests for the event, presented by TEPPCO, included the 3rd Annual Chowder Cook-off, two raffles, and parade entries.2007 Chowder Cook-Off winners were: First – Tobe’s; Second – Schuyler Hospital; and Third – Village Marina Bar & Grill.Winners of the raffles were Rose Ann Simpkins – quilt by O’Susannah’s, and Jean Perkins – an in-home, fully catered dinner for 4 from MFT Limited.The parade winners were “Most Christmas Spirit – Schuyler Hospital; “Most Decorated” – The Arc of Schuyler County and “Judges Choice” – New Heights Dance Theatre.Limited quantities of the official 2007 Village Christmas Hat are still available, and can be purchased at the Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce offices on the corner of 1st and Franklin Streets in Watkins Glen.Save the date: Next year’s event will be December 5, 2008.
